You most likely have a 1.6 xbox, Flashbios bank doesn't work on 1.6 xboxes (no video syndrome)
Blinking light is normal

You are either buring the disks wrong or the media is not liked by your dvd drive...chip is running as suppossed to.

Blank screen is a common problem afflicting some 1.6 machines when booted through flashbios on the Duo chip.
Sometimes many reboots will get a result but sometimes you just have to flick the swicth and use Bank 0.
This does not affect all 1.6 machines.

Hi,

I'm having this same problem.  I have a 1.3 xbox.  Bank 0 boots fine to the Cromwell BIOS but when I switch to Bank 1 for FlashBios, this happens:

1. Xbox 'misfires' when booting -- the HD starts to spin up, but it powers down
2. Xbox tries to boot again and 'misfires' again
3. Xbox powers up but then the eject button frags red and green and there is no video on the screen.

Anyone have any ideas?   Is there a reason Cromwell would work but not FlashBios?  Can I use Bank 0 to flash Bank 1?  Is this a sign that I have a soldering problem?

Thanks for any help.

also, i forgot to mention that my chip is soldered to be 'always on'   i'm sure all the points are connected properly.

I'm just wondering what could be the cause of bank 0 cromwell loading ok, while bank 1 frags.

thanks again!

Sounds like the flashbios bank is corrupt. Yes you can boot from bank 0 and flick the switch to flash over bank 1
