Installed Duox Lite (blue) And Now I Get Nothing
« on: April 28, 2006, 02:53:00 AM »

Ok Problem solved.  Let me start by saying don't laugh.  I opened the box took out the power supply and checked the bottom to see if there was damage were the early ones were known to break.  Everything looked good.  The solder was a little worn but not black at all.  I still cleaned up the two points a little.  Then I noticed the two pads were the screws ground the power supply to the chassis had very little metal left on them so I added some solder around the two screw holes.  After all this I reassembled the box and still nothing.  Then I stood up walked over to the wall were the switch is for the outlet I was plugged into turned the switch on and who would have guessed it worked with the switch on.  I feel like a freaking idiot, but I did get it to boot up with no problems whatsoever and this is my first soldering job ever, besides automotive stuff.  So I was proud.  Now if only it would do something besides load with a different splash screen.  I have a 200 gig harddrive waiting to install I guess I need to read some more tutorials before I start that one.  Should I load evolution x on the stock harddrive to get off the information first then use that to burn a cd to format the 200 gig isn't that about the way it works.  If so which installer disk is the best for installing Evo x.

Thanks
Bryant

edit:  I removed the aid disk and the aid 3.0 thing goes away so now I just need to get rid of the evo X pill looking thing in the corner.

Getting rid of that requires a bios reflash wink.gif
