Yes it does sound like your BT and d0 are good. It is possible to install the pinheader backwards and still get it to work, just make sure you took out the appropriate pins from each so that pins 3,4,5 (On the LPC) are not connected from the LPC to the chip.
Most fragging is cause by your soldering. If you have the proper pins in the right spots then I would checkout your soldering job to find the issue.
