Just to update. I've managed to resolder the D0 wire. I've found that I have to short the PowOn and standby pins on the motherboard power connecter, which makes the fan spin at full speed. Then, if I press the power or eject buttons the fan slows down to normal speed and it boots to the Blue X logo.

Hmm, well it was 5 minutes ago. Now pressing either button just turns it off again!

And now I can only get a reading on the 3.3v line  grr.gif
