Is There Such Thing As A Working Flashbios For Duox2?
« on: March 02, 2006, 11:31:00 AM »

The ones that come with the DuoX2 are just fine.  Cromwell (bank 0) works with all versions including 1.6/1.6b, it's just bank 1 that has flashbios that can be a problem on some 1.6's.  So ALL DuoX2's work just fine on 1.6's, you just switch to whatever bank depending on if you have problems.

Flashbios has a terrible boot rate so they don't work great on 1.6 xboxes.  I see why you would want a working one.  The Cromwell boots fine on 1.6 xboxes but its not as noob friendly as the Flashbios (and it wasn't the questions anyways)...You might want look into the unofficial Flashbios release.

If cromwell if too hard for someone to use, they should be flashing a chip as they will probably flash the wrong bios or something.
Honestly, how hard is cromwell???  Insert Eurasia first, then insert bios disk when it asks for it,

Personally, I've found flashbios to load more reliably on a 1.6 than what most DVD-ROM readers will read a flashdisk. After you flash over http you never want to go back.

This IS a common occurence with Flashbios on the V1.6 with the white DuoX. 20 or so reboots will bring up the flash bios screen.
