Duox2 Blue Chip

The blue DuoX2's come preloaded with the BIOS, the white ones come preloaded with linux bios loaders.  So either they come with the BIOS, or they come with the utility to easily flash them.  Either way it is simple.

you sure all of the Blue ones come with it? Because I was reading on some forum that a guy had a Blue DUOX2 and he said it had no bios on it, maybe he bought a clone that was screwed up or something.

If it is a clone, then it might not... But I wouldn't buy a clone and would refuse to do business with a company that sells clones claiming to be the real thing.  As for REAL DuoX2's.... they do have BIOS's on them already.
But even a clone would come with a linux bios loader... never blank banks.  So you have nothing to worry.

A real Blue Duo X2 ships with a X2 bios(for v1.0-1.5) on bank 0 and a Evox M8 bios(v1.6) on bank 1.  If you run avalaunch as a dash off the harddrive you will have to rename the file to avadash.xbe for it to run.

Im getting my chip off of Divineo.cn Its the chinese site and they have the original blue chip. They say in big writing that they only sell the original.

Why would you buy the lite? the cromwell and the blue one are like $5 more.

Anybody who tells you their chip came with no bios on it, has not installed it correctly.
All the blue DuoX 2 chips are flashed with a hacked bios.
Note this is not the same as the dash. No chips come with the dash and everything and your post reads like you may be thinking the dash and apps are all on the chip. The chip only holds the bios

EvoX BIOS (M8 etc) is a hacked BIOS like any other (X2 etc). The BIOS boots the system and a hacked BIOS allows you to run unsigned code. A dashboard is basically a replacement menu system that lets you do more than the standard MS one. As Chancer pointed out sounds like you confused EvoX BIOS (stored on the chip, comes with DuoX2 blue) and EvoX dashboard (on the hard drive, install it yourself).

Hackdabox recommends these BIOS' for DuoX2:
Xbox V1.0 - V1.5 use X2 4981.06 bios (512k)
Xbox V1.6 - V1.6b use Evox M8 Plus V1.6 bios (512k)

Is that the same for the Duox2 lite?  I jsut bought one and I'm not sure what to do after I install it.  Do I have to flash it or do I just burn the Evox DVD/slayer/ISO? I have no clue waht to do. blink.gif
EDIT: It's a V1.6 box.

The Lites come with the hacked bios Evox M8+ for the 1.6s, so no need to flash for you.  Just run your slayer disk after installing the chip.

Why do you NEED to get the one that comes preloaded with the hacked bios anyways?  Buy whatever is cheaper (either blue or white DuoX2).  It takes all of 30 seconds to flash to the hacked BIOS.
Just download and burn a BIOS DVD from "the usual place".  After you mod with a white duo, boot on bank 1 (second bank) which is flash bios, select flash fom Disc, drive pops open, stick disc in, 20 seconds later your system turns itself off.  It is done.  that easy.  So no sense in worrying about if you can get a chip with or without the bios on it.

FlashBios (bank 1 on the white chips), has a network flash option.  So you don't even have to burn a disc.  Just pick network flash, then on your PC type in the IP that came up on the screen in your browser and it asks you to locate you bios file, then 20 sec. later it is done.  Again as I said you don't NEED to get a blue one.  and if you live in the US or Canada, you run the risk of getting it confiscated as the blue ones are illegal here, but the white ones are legal.
