Duox2 Lite Booting Ms Dash
« on: February 11, 2006, 07:49:00 PM »

I have a 1.0 xbox modded with a duox2 lite. I dont see any light flashing when the xbox is booted (i dont know whether the lite has a led or not..). It boots to ms dash when either power or eject buttons are pressed.

It is either the d0 or the bt because i have checked the lpc and it looks good. Also to note is that the BT pad fell off (!), so I had to solder to the via, and I checked continuity between the BT on the xbox(behind eject) and BT on the chip(one of the legs of the chips where the bt trace leads to) and it was good, but the connection seems a little weak.

Anyone care to help?

Thanks in advance

Try an always on install.  Wire BT to Pin 9 on the Duo(picture below).  Take D0 from the motherboard and ground it on a screwhole.

It should be the same for the Lite.  The Lite doesn't have the LED.

Yeah just solder a wire from the alternate d0 point on the back of the motherboard like in this pic ...

Then run the 30awg wire wrap through the lpc hole #16 and solder it to the metal ring around the screw hole. Like in this pic ...

Thanks for the replies guys, but I need to be able to disable for live :S.

Well, Im using wire slightly smaller than 30 awg, its about 34 awg. Now what I get is the xbox starts, then shuts off, starts then reboots, etc. Its on less than a second before it reboots. Needless to say, I unplugged it as soon as I could.

The connections to BT and D0 look good (continuity), but maybe the wire has too much resistance?

Thanks again.
