yeah, the other bank is the eurasia option.
make sure that the media you're using is compatible with your dvd drive

i've never flashed via eurasia before, but that should work
i usually use flashbios then flip the switch to flashover the eurasia bank.  this way i have a working bios and flashbios still in the other bank

good luck!

Use DVD-Rs/CD-RWs to make your boot/flash discs or if you own the elusive Samsung 605b then you can use normal CD-Rs.

You need to make 2 DVD/CDRW's.  One will be your BIOS disc, the other will be the Eurasia Disc.
Just read up on how to make them both properly.

Don't throw in the towel yet ...

Burn the Eurasia and a BIOS cd to cdrw at the slowest possible speed and try it. If they dont work then burn them at a friends house to DVD-R ( not +R ) and not (DVD+RW) at the slowest possible speed.

Or go to a friends house and swap their dvd-rom out of their xbox with yours and then load up eurasia , flash your bios and swap the drives back.

No you can't use a regular DVD/Cd drive from a PC, only the Xbox model drives (they use special firmware, etc).
Also you can't use CDR's period.  None of the drives (Samsung, Thompson, Phillips, etc) will read CDRs.  This has been mentioned everywhere.  Your only choices are DVD's or CDRW's.

hot swapping is not that hard.  But if you are having a hard time burning a Eurasia disc to CDRW, then hot swapping might be too tough for you as well.

its not that im having trouble the darn DVD isnt reading it.

You are burning it to CDR so as suggested you are having a hard time burning it because you have not made one the drive can read.you should try a good brand CDRW.

positive. The xbox will struggle to read CDR unless you are lucky  and have a tolerant drive. But they do however usually read cdrw. I realise you have no dvd burner so cdrw is the next best step.

Yep i have about 3 CDRW's kept on standby for any Xbox booting tasks - booting EvoX, BIOS discs, Eurasia etc. Have worked in every console i've tried them in so far..

How have you made CDRW coasters? They are rewritable!

You ARE using rewritable CDs (CD-RW) aren't you?

You shouldn't have any troubles booting Eurasia from CDRW - are you DEFINITELY burning the discs correctly? Describe to us how you are burning them. If they're definitely being burnt correctly then you should try burning them at a friends house onto DVD-R. You will be able to get Eurasia to boot from DVD if you burn the discs correctly.

Don't because Eurasia Flash disc is an iso designed to be burned as is.
