That just means your soldering jobs wasn't done right.  99% of xboxes fragging after installing a mod chip is from bad soldering.  Recheck all your points to make sure they are good, and check that your d0 is in the right spot, and that your BT is good.  Somewhere you either have a bad solder joint, solder splash, or solder crossing something.  If you can't find anything then desolder and start again because there is something wrong with your soldering.  Once it looks good to you, and you still have the problem, them upload photos for us to see and tell you where to check.

Try to boot with the eject-button, if it's how to deactivate the modchip. If the xbox boots normally, then the box is still working, but your pinheader isn't getting contact. Good Luck!

It is your soldering work.  Those rebuild boards are junk and make it hard to see if you are crossing anything.  I live in Ottawa and I would help you fix your Xbox for a few beers if you could somehow get it up here.

If theyre as flimsy as I remember, stick something thin like a toothpick between the rebuild board and the rebuild point. Then heat the solder point and move the toothpick towards the solder point and it will lift up. Then let it cool for a few seconds and remove the toothpick. Do this with the rest of the points and then the LPC points and youre done.

You dont need to get the pin header out if you're just going to remove the LPC rebuild board and rebuild with wires.. But if you do want to get the pinheader out you can either use solder briad to remove all the solder then simply just lift the header free (not always as easy as it sounds) or..

Put the motherboard on your lap between your knees, with the pinheader pointing to the floor. Use one hand to hold a pair of needle nose pliers, which you use to grasp one pin at a time underneath the motherboard. Heat up the corresponding solder point with your soldering iron on the side of the board which is facing up.. And pull it out (towards the floor) whilst the solder is molten. Thinking about it dont try this actually i could imagine it going horribly wrong hah! Maybe someone else has a better suggestion.

Seriously though i dont see a reason why you would ever want to remove the pinheader.

I'm having the same problems.  This is my first install and first time ever soldering, so it makes sense the problem is my soldering.  Thanks for answering my questions by answering his.  Hopefully I can get my box up and running.

One question of my own though.  My situation is identical except when I boot up with the tray open I get an error 16.  Clock error or some shit.  When I get my soldering done correctly will I be able to fix that?

*edit
one more question......is the best place to get that cd to flash my bios on xbins?  I haven't tried using that yet.

Word of advice to noob solderers..... Don't start with soldering on your Xbox.  Too $$$ of something to start on.  Take an old video card, etc laying around or go to a PC store that has a junk bin and pick one up for free.  the practice connecting vias (Ie. follow the trace between 2 vias and bridge that with wire.  then cut the trace on the board)  If your soldering is good, the card should still work.  After doing this 10+ time and if you still have the card working (test it in a PC), then you can safely progress to your xbox.  if you destroyed it, then go get a new one and practice some more.

I started on my box because I got mine for free.  I won it in a radio contest.  I'm pretty good with this type of stuff so I gave it a whirl.  It didn't work out the first time, but I'm pretty sure I can get it to work.
