Need Help With A Dou X3 Chip. (blue Version)
« on: January 19, 2006, 12:48:00 PM »

You should post pics of your install for us to look at.  I took a look at the DuoX3 install guide and I would suggest using the top left solder point on the back of the eject button for your BT instead of the one they suggest, and I would suggest you use the Alt D0 on the back of the motherboard as it is easier and in the same place for version 1.0-1.5.
Try those suggestions and post your pics of your solder job.

If it just goes straight to the retail Bios it sounds like your D0 is not working and possibly your BT

Yeah it's more like a Aladdin Advance turbo ++ than a DuoX3 as it has more in common with aladdins and nuthen to do with duox2. Be sure to reflash this baby with X2 4981 as it has Evox M8 Plus V1.6 on it now i bet !

You can reflash with the HackDaBox Reflash Cd as it has the 49lf020a flash rom. It's really 2 aladdin xt's on one modchip board with a switch !

HackDaBox !

I'm glad you figured it out. Really, they are not bad modchips for the price. At least you get two banks. I haven't used my Duo X3 chip in ages. I run a SmartXX V2 (soon to get a V3).

This is not correct. the chip is just a glorified Aladdin and consequently it does not use the ejct button BT point that the DuoX 2 uses. Use the Aladdin points for this chip.
