White Duo X2 Frag'ing Unusual Situation
« on: January 16, 2006, 11:42:00 AM »

Ok... I have modified several Xbox's so I think I have done as much research as I can at this point. I have a v1.6 and I installed the Duo X2. I have been using the Xbox for a year now with no problems. A couple weeks ago I noticed that when I pressed the power button to turn on the Xbox it FRAGged... So I turned it off then it started up fine. It did this a few more times and then last week I got nothing but FRAGging... It seems like it slowly started going bad... I checked all my points and everything still looks good. I can turn on the Xbox and go to the orig dash with no problems. I even put in a brand new Duo X2 and still no luck. I tested the points with a voltmeter and I did notice one unsual thing, the pin #7 for Lad3 gives me 0.0 volts... I think it should be 3.3v. Could this be causing my problem? All my other points are giving me voltages as they should. Is there an alternate point? I tried running a wire to the bottom of the board of the LTC rebuld and straight to the chip incase the header pin was bad, but I still got the same results. Any help we be cool...

First thing to try when a mod seems to die of old age is to reflow all the points/resolder all the points after desoldering them.   I would suggest that escpecially the way it slowly died for you.
