On a 1.6b you can solder all 12 of the male header that comes with the chip. The ones not used are not connected at the Duo end of the arrangement so it does no harm to just leave them all.

Try downloading the slayer auto installer CD and flashing using that. If not you can always read how to do a hotswap. Flashing your Bios is alot like the old saying"Measure twice, cut once". It saves huge headaches to double check you have the right bios 100% before actually flashing it.

If the box does not read the disc and shows no disc then its the media the disc is burned on. Does the xbox coldboot any unsigned code?
You can always reflash in another version machine

If it boots slayers then it should boot Hacks disc. I have it and it works guaranteed.
You can use Eurasia to flash the chip. Just boot the box with Eurasia flash disc in and let it go through its stuff.
When it pops the drawer and asks for the bios disc stick in your M8+.16 bios disc and flick the switch across to flash the opposite bank

There in lies the problem. An ISO9660 is in fact burned as a Data disc in nero. So you have made a data disc with an ISO file on it . That can't be read in the Xbox.
What version of Nero are you using?

Its likely the bios.
reburn Hacks disc doing it the way in the link above. The way you burned it is not correct for burning an ISO. It should work. I would defo try get it flashed before giving up.

i think the reason it cannot read hackdabox's disk is because i do not have flashbios or cromwell installed on my chip...so there is no way to tell the xbox to flash from disk.

The reflash disc only runs on a hacked bios. It auto boots and has a menu to selct the flash you want.
I am thinking you don't have the correct disc maybe.

The disc I am talking of is not the iso discs of the bios files that hack has on his site. This is different altogether.

PROBLEM SOLVED !!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO !!!!!!!! it was the bios after all... i dug through xbins ftp and managed to find the spider reflash cd which flashed my bios to the PLUS version of evox m8 1.6...everything works perfectly !!! i cannot thank you enough for helping me fix my problem...my son thanks you too :-)

Hi everyone!! i have a duox 2 chip and a version 1.2 and 1.3 xbox. i bought it online and it contains the mod chip, a 1.6 circuit board and i disassembled the xbox, but i could not get any instructions on how to install it. if anyone could nstructions, i will be grateful.

I'm amazed you weren't able to find any installation guides.
