Your xbox is not a good thing to learn how to solder on.  Practice on something else electric like an old computer.

Read the tutorials too, so many.

You need to get the solder out of the LPC then it's easy from there.

What you need is to take your soldering iron away from the Xbox. Practice on an old scrap PCB first till you have mastered soldering. Also get a more powerful iron. From your description it sounds like some crappy 15 watt iron get at least a 25watt or the solder will not melt correctly

Keep the job steady ... don't chase it around your desk with the iron. Then using atleast a 25watt iron thats been heating up for a full 10 mins place the iron on both the pin and the hole and leave it for 2 seconds whilst pushing in some solder then remove the solder then remove the iron. You can let it cool and then do the same untill the solder is shinny and completely forms a mountain from the top to the bottom.
