Ok here is the scenario:

Bought an Xbox from eBay and the person said they did a TSOP flash and it did not work and screwed up the Xbox. When I got it I could see the 2 areas where they soldered the points together. I cleaned it up and removed the solder... I then installed a pin header for the white Duo X2. I had another Xbox I flashed the Duo X2 in so I could get the bios on it. The chip worked fine in the other Xbox. I then just put the chip in the Xbox with the bad TSOP and tried to boot. When I boot it it flashes green and tried to boot 3x and then FRAG's. The chip's LED does not flash at all during this process when using bank 0 with the M8+ 512k BIOS. It does not flash when unsing the Bank 1 with the M8+ 512k BIOS either. Should it be flashing while the Xbox is trynig to boot? I used the alternate points for the D0 & the BT on the MOBO. Is there something else I need to do? Did I do something wrong? I am pretty sure the connections on the LPC, D0 & BT are fine. Is there s special BIOS I need? This is a v1.2 Xbox.

Measure pin 9 for 3v3. the LED should be flashing on the chip all the time its enabled. If its not and you have FRAG then the LPC is causing a problem.

This is going to be a dumb question but which one is pin 9? I know there are diagrams but I can't find one...

Ignore my last post... I found the diagram and I tested pin 9 and I am getting 3.32 volts.

I tesed the pins according to the following forum post:

I tested pins 6, 8 & 10 to only be .45 volts not 5v for 6 & 3.3v for 8 & 10. All of the other pins are around 3.3 or 2.8v. Do I need to redo the connection to pins 6, 8 & 10?

I also noticed that pin 2 for the ground was reading .2v and not 0.0v.

Ok.. I redid the LPC connections (just added some heat to remelt solder & added solder if necessary). LPC looks good and I retested the voltage.

Pin 2 still .2v
Pin 6 is now 5v
Pin 9 is 4.2v
Pin 10 is 4.08v

The rest are 3.2 or 2.8v.

Still no luck.

Ok aftert doing some messing around I figured out what was wrong (I think). The Xbox was FRAGing and the chip was not booting. I took out the original HDD and put in a 120GB HDD that has not been formatted and I also put in the Slayers Auto installer disc. I turned off the Xbox and forced it to boot straight to the CD. The CD came up and I formatted the upgraded HDD. Once that was done, I now noticed that the Xbox tries to boot 1 time and then on the 2nd boot the chip kicked in and the HDD booted. I then put in the orig HDD and I guess the owner before me must have formatted it with another set of apps. I formatted that orig HDD with the orig M$ software and now it works fine. Everytime the Xbox boots now, either by the Power button or the Eject button the Xbox boots once and then on the 2nd boot it goes to the HDD apps. Not sure why the orig HDD was causing issues but somehow it worked.
