Help With Duox2 Cromwell Problem
« on: September 14, 2005, 01:46:00 PM »

I've installed plenty of Xeniums, but this is only my 2nd Duox2 install.

Couple of weeks ago I installed a DuoX2 Cromwell/Seagate 160 into a 1.6 Box. Installed, flashed and ran Auto-Installer Deluxe 2 in less than 30 minutes. No problems.

Yesterday, tried to do the exact same thing (DuoX2 Cromwell/Seagate 160/1.6 Box) but with this one i get the multi-language "service required" screen.

I assume the DuoX is installed correctly because it'll boot Auto-Installer Deluxe 2 and also DVD-/+R & CD-RW games with the stock HDD. Put the Seagate160 in, and I get the "service required" screen of death.

What simple thing am I overlooking? Thanks in advance.

What eror number are you getting?...If your installer boots fine then the chip is fine and its either the files on the hard drive or the hard drive is locked to another xbox or maybe the 160gb going bad. Since its a 1.6 xbox it should give you an error number to better understand the problem.

Tried them both. Same result.

Thanks for the info/input everyone. It turned out to be a defective hard drive. I took it back to Best Buy and exchanged it. All is well in the world of modding once again.
