Sorry didn't see that.No he doesn't need to do the rebuild.....If the D0 is making contact with other open traces/connections then yes it could cause problems but if if you mean the is resting on the traces covered in lacker filling then no that couldn't be the problem

D0 is working or the retail boot would be affected. BT is working as you can boot chip on or Chip Off.
FRAG with chip enabled is bad connections or damage/shorts on the LPC.
Post a pic of the work it may reveal all.

Hi, I have the same problem as described here, and have a V1.0 XBox also.
Some questions I have are:

1. What is the normal mix of Bios's on the DouX2? Bank0 Xecuter v??/Bank1 Evox v???
2. Is it possible to see this problem and have a bad chip?
3. Is it possible that this problem is due to a DouX not being flashed with ANY bios?

I have seen this problem three times myself, and have nevr been able to resolve the actual problem. I have never been able to install a DuoX2 on an XBox at all, and the only common tread with me is that the XBox versions were always 1.2 or less.
But I can definately say that the LPC was soldered with a header, and the DouX did not work on them, but when another chip ie Xecuter was installed (with a few extra header pins) It worked fine!

So what is going on here?

Cheers, Spook8000

Maybe this will tell if it's the chip or soldering.

I can't get the links to work. I will just switch to iE and see if its my browser.

R7D4 was still connected at one point so I swung it around to where it is supposed to be with some small tweezers.

And it's not fragging, but now i'm getting error code 05(HDD not locked) which means the chips not working.

It boots going to MS Dash if I boot with power or eject.

Any ideas, i'm going to fool around with it now.

At least it's progress. smile.gif

Ok, I took my box to a professional to be soldered.(But not an xbox pro.)

Whats he a pro at? Obviously not soldering the LPC is a mess you should have done it yourself.

The install needs re-doing soldering wise. I would solder the D0 to the alt point , re-solder the LPC and cleanly if poss. Solder BT to the Alt point.
The LPC should look more like this

Its definetely the soldering.
Put bluntly I could have thrown the solder at the LPC blindfold from 50 yards away and the LPC would look better.
If you can solder re-do it. If you can't take it to someone who really can solder (not the person who did it)
