Update...
I tried to flash the other bank (the good one I'm booting flashbios from) and this gives me exactly the same error.
So I'm guessing this is a faulty chip, and I did things correctly to begin with using the eurasia flash tool, but because the chip was faulty it failed.
Maybe eurasia doesn't have the same failsafe measures as flashbios because eurasia overwrote the cromwell bios with something (garbage) that prevented boot. But the flashbios Failed before flashing and is still bootable - but not flashable.
Depending on how the retailer goes with returns/replacements, I think this experience will change my view on 'cheap' modchips.
I previously thought that with the expensive modchips (I also have a box with an X3 in it) you pay for features you don't really need or use, but I think what you are paying for is reliabilty, testing, support and documentation.
I have found that - with the exception of this forum, and I'm kicking myself for not checking in here before I bought/installed - the support & documentation for the DuoX is at best very poor.
Their installation guide is average,
They fail to mention that flashbios may take many reboots to work,
They leave you in the dark with how to use cromwell & eurasia.
They have no forum on their website.
cheers
ps The Xbox-Scene modchip comparisson tables
http://www.xbox-scen...ips3b_table.htm says duox has no clones, however I read posts from hackdabox talking about testing the differences between duox real & clones,
how do you tell the difference? - I wonder if I have an inferior clone?
