Duox2 Lite And Duox2
« on: July 11, 2005, 11:28:00 PM »

hey i had a xbox version 1.3 with a working xenium, so i tried a duox2 lite, i soldered the do to the duox2 liet ,  the same d0 xenium was using and bt to the Eject board ... xbox will turn on but will not enable the chip,, tried the always on mod ( it will frag if i gorund the do) .   ... but if i put the xenium back to the xbox it will work without any problem..

now i'm working on a 1.6, i soldered the LPC that came with the duox2 lite,  trun xbox on and it frags , toke out the modchip from the pinheader and the xbox boot without any problem .. if i desolder the D0 from teh chip and the chip been on the pin header it will boot fine to the MS dash with no FRAGS ..

what you guy think it could be...

PS: LPC  soldered on the back of the board and it was soldered to the pin ..... what i'm not sure when using the LPC rebiuld board i'm only allow to use the quick solder option on teh modchip?

I would go back through and double check your rebuild on the version 1.6 go back through all the spots you soldered to confirm that they are all legit.

as for on the 1.3 are you using the same duo chip back and forth on these two xbox's? if so the lite only has one bios on it and you should change it to work on the version 1.0 thru 1.5 then go to the different version for 1.6 xbox's they are different and may be causing you issue as well

ok here is the update, after desolder the LPC rebuild that came with duox2 lite, i  solder just the pin header like normal, then i did the lcp rebuild with wires, trun on the xbox, i see the chip is enable, so trun off the xbox, and connect the hd and the dvd drive, now i don't see the logo at the top , that show me the chip is enable why ? should i be able to see that logo everytime i trun on my xbox, or is only the first time to let me know the chip is enable??/

now the xbox just boot to the regular MS bios, or i'm mistaking? or that is just the bios that come preflash with duox lite that is the same or look the same as the MS retail bios?

i also have had good results with the rat shack braid.
Using a hot enough iron is definatly a key point that i think most people overlook.
When i started modding, i was desoldering v1.0 LPC's with the 15watt iron i was installing the chips with. saying it wasas Pain In the Ass is an understatement.
If you're desoldering stuff a 25 watt iron is entry levele as far as heat goes... anything less is asking for damage to be done.
