It does not make any difference which bank you flash and use on a 1.4 white DuoX 2. as long as you flash the right bios for your Xbox you can use any bank you like.
You now have to boot from bank 0 with a program called Eurasia. You can still flash the bad bank by flicking the switch to bank 1 just before you start with the bios disc.
Make a new bios disk with your 512K bios file on it when you use Eurasia. You can use the M8+ bios if you like as long as you don't use the M8+.16 version. Mkae sure the bios size is correct on the bios disc.
Maybe on the first flash you used a 256k hence the problems.

I burnt a boot disk with Eurasia but will not boot up.
I used Ritek 4X disc and followed the directions that came with the Eurasia program but to no avail.

switch it to bank 0 and flash via the HTTP.

make sure you use a 512KB M8 < 1.6  not the M8 for 1.6

No Eurasia does not resize the bios for you. You have to resize it to 512K or you will end up with a bad flash.
Also only use Eurasia when booting bank 0. If you boot bank 1 it has normal flashbios on it so you only need a bios disc.

Grab evtool from here

http://home.alltel.n...shd/evtool.html

resize the BIOS by opening it and choosing 512k and then saving the file as BIOS.BIN

follow the instructions that came with eurasia and bingo !

HINT : just before flashing once you have the cromwell screen up and running flick the switch using a toothpick or something non metal throught the side of the case , this way you will still have another chance if you need it !

Your xbox is version 1.4, so why the hell are you messing around with any M8 bios in the first place?  Get the X2 4981 bios and resize it to 512k, forget bout those Evox bioses, only use them for a v1.6 xbox.

If you wanna use X2 4981.06 bios then grab XBTOOL from here

http://home.alltel.n...shd/xbtool.html

resize the BIOS by opening it and choosing 512k and then saving the file as BIOS.BIN

follow the instructions that came with eurasia and bingo !
