make sure you're using the official ms controller (only have one connected in PORT 1).
And disconnect any headsets or mem cards you have.

Make sure you're using the standard AV pack also.

I am using 1 Official MS controller in port 1, memory cards are removed, DVD dongle removed and I have tried 2 DOUX 2 chips with the same result. I put the Aladdin back and it is perfect??????

Finally when I sort out the problem am I right in assuming I need a 512K bios file? I know it has a 1Mb chip split into 2 x 512K banks but I assume you flash them seperately with 2 512K bios.bin files and not a single 1M.

Thanks for trying to help, any other suggestions would be greatfully received.

only thing i can think of is did you solder the D0 from the mb to the D0 on the chip? i know aladdin does not make you do this.

Use a dvd remote to controll the screen or hotswap after booting with aladdin.

Yeah use a 512k bios.bin

Ermm I don't understand this . If you wire the aladdin correctly of course you have Lframe (1.6) to D0 point on the chip same on the DuoX 2
