I'm trying to get 2 duox2 cromwell white version chips to flash. I use a Eurasia disk and it just sits there ejects the dvd drive i put the disk in and it closes and just sits there i hit A and it just sits there. I tried hot swapping with an xbox with an alladin XT in it and it said flash type not found.

I tried burning the eurasia disk on CD-RW DVD-R and tried 2-3 different times. and still are unable to get it to work. I flashed 2 of these before no issues. Not with the same disks im using tho. Anyone got some suggestions

is there some sort of write protection on these chips for it not to flash in evox with box with alladin xt, or is it because it was an alladin xt. I wouldnt think it'd matter because it's just trying to read of the LPC and doesnt care what kinda chip it is

What xbox version do you have ?

Try flicking the switch to bank 1 which is for FLASHBIOS , then you don't need to use Eurasia .. just throw in a dvd-r with BIOS.BIN and a dummy file.

Or if you wanna use another box with an XT in it then i suggest you try loader.xbe to flash it you can download it from here ...

You can use a file manager to launch it once you thrown it onto the box with the XT in it !

its a 1.6 so the flashbios doesn't work im gonna work on it in the morning im sure ill get it flashed.

hmm what the hell, it still wont read the cd i've tried burning it every way i have done in the past. Also if i hot swap it it says Unknown Flash Type, even after i added all the flash types into the evox.ini.


When i go to to load the loader.xbe it says invalid xbe. file.

This is driving me crazy

on the bios disk make sure in the raincoat file that these are there, they dont have to been in order though,

god damn haha.

I've tried xflash still get read only. Flash may not be writeable. Please check your config file. I've added all that stuff to the config file. I try hotswapping in evox and says unknown flash type. I tried hot swapping wtih Xflash, Gentoox Loader, Evox, Raincoat IS  there any point on the chip i must connect to get it to flash.


Also Anyone ever have a problem with the cromwell bios not wanting to load cd's. It will load on my other xbox through Gentoox loader. If i run it through the dashboard but wont load on this current one through the cromwell bios. It just sits there and tells me to insert a CD and press A. I press A and wait and wait and nothing happens.

I dunno what the deal is. I can't get it to load flashbios at all.i tried restarting 30times and nothing ever showedup. So i can only get cromwell to load and i'm unable to do anything but click on the CD button i flashed my last chip with a bios cd that let me flash it through online

my alladin boots up fine. And i soldered BT to Pin G on the duox2. when i swap the chips it flashes red (the led). Then i select the bios i want to flash and it still says Unknown Flash TYpe. I've tried 5 different duox2 chips everyone produces the same thing. The only other thing i can think of is. IS the pinheader pin setup different on the duox2 compared to the alladin. BEcause i removed some of the pins for the alladin install. The ones that arent used by the alladin have been removed, so my question is would that cause the duox2 chip not to flash. The alladin is fully flashable and working.


I still would like to know why i cant flash the damn things in the box the first duox2 is installed in. It loads up Cromwell fine then i insert my disk and it just sits there and says after inserting disk please press A

i finally got it to flash i had to solder pins 6 and 12 from the lpc to the duox2 and it flashed.
