Duox2 Issues
« on: February 27, 2005, 02:56:00 AM »

I bought a v1.0 mobo off of Ne0529 and according to him the board worked finr with a modchip installed, so I assumed it was a bad TSOP flash. I got the board, and when my shipment of DUOX2 chips came in I installed it and a larger HDD on the board and tested it out. It boots up and the blue xbox logo comes up with the Xecuter2 text at the bottom, but then it flashes and goes to the error code screen and gives me an error code 21, and has the text from superfro, etc... I then used the Slayers install disk, and installed the apps/dash, etc... and still get the same thing. There is a catch though. While I was installing the apps/dash and stuff it was going REALLLLY slow. It took forever to install everything. I don't think the problem is with the chip, though I could be wrong. If anyone else has any idea what the problem could be please let me know, as I have no idea. Thanks.

I think it unlikely the problem is with the chip
Error 21    Typically means you're missing .xip files on your c: drive, or you have .xip's from a different (wrong) dashboard version. To fix simply restore a complete backup of the c: drive.

Are you sure you did a full rebuild of the drive with Slayers? If you just selected upgrade apps and dash it won't correct any missing m$ dash files.
The only times  I have had Slayers go real slow is with Xbox  machines with dodgy DVD drives. One took 80 minutes to stick a dash and the apps on but no DDE messages.
