Hard Drive Prep For Duox2?

Is the hard drive locked ? if yes you can't use it on this xbox as it will only work on the motherboard that locked it.

If it's not locked just boot Slayer's Auto Installer or similar and rebuild original hard drive.

You are making hard work out of getting it going really. The easiest way is to forget about preparing the HDD in the PC and do as  my friend said which is to boot the Xbox from Slayers auto installer and reformat and build the drive from there. If the drive is unlocked it will do this easy.

Either the Slayers disc is not burned correctly or the disc is not being recognised in the drive because if you boot with a DVD in the drive it runs the DVD first . You can stick in a totaly blank unformatted drive using this method.
Check your jumper is on cable select and that the IDE cable is not faulty.

Its should not have read error 13 either. if you boot with a working Autoinstaller the Box does not try to load the dash files it boots from the DVD. To make it easy to understand I chip a box then put in the box a totally blank new HDD. I boot the box with the Sllayers disc in and the box boots from the DVD drive and comes up with the Slayers Menu so I can format the drive etc. It does NOT give out an error code relating to the HDD even though its blank, because its booted the default.xbe off the DVD drive.
I think you need to have  a read up because I am not sure any more (reading all your recent posts on what you have tried or done) that you really know what you are doing or the correct way to do stuff.

You can bring a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

We can post the information here for you to read but if you can't understand it then i can't help that !

YOUR THOMPSON DVD-ROM IS NOT READING SLAYERS !

You need to burn slower or do a pot adjust or even better

BURN TO DVD-R (4X) if you don't have a DVD Burner get a friend to burn it to DVD-R at 4x for you.
