I used dvd-r to burn eurasia... and the exact same kind to do a bios disc. Doesn't work. Like I said... it wants me to put the device id in raincoat.cfg,and I have no clue what it is...

Btw, Is it normal for duox2 to show read-only in flashbios? I'm pretty sure somethings not right here >_<

In the Eurasia disc folder when you download it there is a file called Raincoat. Open it with notepad and make sure it has the following lines (not all are required but it may be an older version)
Flash = 0x01a4,"AMD - Am29F040B",0x80000
Flash = 0x01d5,"AMD - Am29F080B",0x100000
Flash = 0x01da,"AMD - Am29LV800B",0x100000
Flash = 0x015b,"AMD - Am29LV800B",0x100000

If they are missing paste them in using notepad, save the file and reburn the boot disc with the new entries.
If this does not work then you are doing something else wrong or maybe the chip is faulty.
I have flashed 2 duoX2 today ( white) using Eurasia and confirm it works fine. Both these boxes were brought in by customers who had fitted their own DuoX2 but could not get the flash to work. If you want the full list from my config file you can have it. Let me know

Is there any chance it could be the soldering?

Sorry I just re-read the post and the damn lines are missing the ;  at the end. add the ; to the end of each line. (thanks hackadabox for picking it up for me)
Sorry its when I drag to copy and paste.
From the error it would appear its not recognising the chip. Is the flash rom the usual AMD type?

I'm having the same problems with a Duo X2, it won't flash in either my own (X3 modded V1.1) or in the new to install V1.5!

I tried messing with lines, as I now what I was doing!
No sucess sad.gif

I re-soldered the whole damn thing and no sucess.

Could it be some write protect line that is somehow high?

I know some people prevent you from flashing the SST chip by linking some pins on it. Where did you order the chip from ?  If you have another xbox you could try hotswaping the modchip.

Works ok with the dashes in when I tried it on a white DuoX2 AMD chip also.Raincoat 0.5 CFG file it was. what do the dashes signify?
Have you cured this yet? I would have hotswapped out the chip even if I had to borrow a box by now

Right got it.
why are people having such problems flashing the White DuoX2 then if the Flash Id is already present in 0.5. In fact the AMD flash ID is present in the config file that came standard with Eurasia when I checked.

I just grabbed the raincoat.conf file from raincoat .7 and renamed it to raincoat.cfg so it's compatible with Eurasia Pro Generic Flash Disc 1.2 But the other problem is that raincoat .5 and Eurasia Pro can only read the first 31 lines and the rest is ignored !

So i have moved some important lines to the top to make sure it's going to work.

Here is the working file

Cut and paste and save as raincoat.cfg and burn on your bios disc.

Right does it need the; at the end of the lines when used in Eurasia. hackdabox you said yes previous. chk2004 says no but in another post a guy flashing the spider could not get the Flash ID to work until he added the ; at the end of it. He confirmed this in his post after trying without and then with.
I never really looked in detail at the lines just used the eurasia proggy so could not say if the lines worked without, I guess probably works both ways but is this the case in Eurasia
