Assuming your install is neat, check the bt wire anyway, and are you positive it is not a 1.5?

good point, isnt the only difference in the 1.4 and 1.5 is that the 1.5 doesnt have power on one of the points?

its unlikely you got a 1.5. Check if the boot screen has Xecuter 2 at the bottom, assuming you are booting from the correct bank 0.
If not check if the LED is flashing on the chip.
Solder BT to pin 9 on the chip itself and Ground the Xbox D0 point. this forces the machine to boot from LPC and makes the chip always on.
If it still only boots M$ Bios (the dash is a different thing) then your D0 is not making connection. If the box FRAGs then the LPC points are the problem. If it boots ok (X2 under logo) then re-do the bT and use the alternative bT linked in my signature.

How are you powering up? If you power up with the eject button you will get MS dash.

If you power up with the power button you will get Excuter boot up.

Even with Excuter booted you still may get MS dash depending on boot order in the bios.

what he is trying to tell you is that you need to press the eject button to power on the xbox with the chip enabled

Update: I tried BT on pin 9, aswell as grounding D0 (which caused the thing to power on for 2 seconds, turn off, power on for 2 seconds, turn off, power on, frag, no video.

pin 9 is "G" in the duox2 modchip diagrams

and yes you need to redo your soldering as thats your problem !

I am glad you have got it sorted. Did you use a multimeter to check if it's a 1.5 ? as thats the only way to tell. So you might have a V1.5 or maybe just a cold solder joint on 1 or both of those power pins you have added more wires for but either way it works now !
