When you power with the power button do you get the flash screen?
What exactly happens when you power from the eject? Audio? video? error Code?
Sounds like you have got the install not quite right somewhere particularly if you cannot boot with the chip off to the M$ dash

Aside from the problem with the M$ bios not booting all you have to do with this is boot the chip enabled from bank 0. When the Cromwell screen comes up you neeed to flash from disk. make up a bios disk with a 512K bios on it (eg X2 4981 or whatever) name the bios file BIOS.BIN. Also add a dummy file about 100 to 200 mb call it dummy.bin burn these to your CDRW or DVD-R as regular data disc (not an Xiso).
As it goes thriough the flash procedure you will see the info on the screen. Once its done just reboot the console and thats it.

ok i found the xecuter 4981 bios and downloaded that and i got the dummy file creator...i burned them onto a disk but my thompson wont read the disk....they are memorex which i know arent the best but its all that was there in cd-rws.  my friend has a samsung tho.....ill borrow it from him sometime.  but lemme just make sure i did this right.   i downloaded the Xecuter 4981 bios and went to it and renamed it BIOS.BIN, then i got the dummy file creator and made a dummy file the size of 100 MB.  then i went to nero...an old version and just burned the two things onto a cd-rw.  did i do this all right???  or is there a certain way to burn the files.

The size you have given is the size it is when it is zipped. I am guessing you have not unzipped the file you got.
