Thin wires will not affect this.
what version box? Does the red light on the chip flash when you boot with the power button? What effect do you get, simply saying it won't work is not enough of a description do you get video sound  Frag what?

To test this you need to do the following. Connect The Xbox D0 to ground. Connect BT on the chip to pin 9 on the chip (3V3) this pin is 2 up from the D0 pad. This makes the chip always on. If the chip LED does not light then you have a faulty chip. If it lights ok and works ok then you have BT to the wrong point or not making connection.

Pin 9 is the G pin. Connect Xbox D0 point to a metal  ring on the mobo where the screws go through.
