Man,
I have not been able to get the X-Lite to work for my 1.6box either. Aside from issues with easybuy ( getting the wrong adapter and then talking to someone on their companies lying to me saying they don't have them in stock, then calling 2 weeks later to find out they have had many in stock.)
Well I tried to install the solderless adapter. The pin point on the circuit had a layer of plastic on them and not a through hole as I hoped for. I etched out the holes with a sharp needle and was able to install the solderless adapter. All the lights lit up like a happy adapter should. However once I installed the chip, the Xbox frags. So I try again and again and again. Same results. I study the pin holes and wonder " Do the light mean the adapters are installed correctly?" Then I try changing the X-Lite chip from a working Xbox 1.0. The other X-Lite did not work either. Loose some hair, grind some teeth, and shed a few tears....Gonna move on.
So I call the support number since the easybuy forum seems to have dissappeared. The support guy is like " There are too many points of failure for the solderless adapter for 1.6...I recommend go solder for stability and make sure this works. " That was no help...
So I go the only path left to me...Solder. So I go take my Xbox circuit board to the lab at work. I paaainfully solder every point on. Install the X-Lite..moment of truth.....(drum roll)......FAILED...same fragging. Then I go back and check the wiring and soldering with OHMmeter....soldering is good. Check everything.
Looked at it several times. Same fragging. At this point, I decided to change to a different Chip and try my luck.
Found the following items not in the manual.
1) Set the switch both to off on main chip.
2) Attach D0 wire to Lframe on chip. ( so I guys says on the forum).
3) Pray a lot.
If someone had found the proper way to get an Xlite to work on Xbox, please save me from many nights of crying myself to sleep.
