X-chip Lite Won't Flash?

 Ok... After reasearching more, I found my x-lite is stuck in recovery mode.
The cromwell bios text on the top of the menu has always been red.

  This is the case with or without the break-away dip pcb connected.

  Is there somewhere on the main chip to look for a bridged lead or solder points?
Possibly scraping the connected point away might let it boot in normal mode? Or is an RMA my only choice?
