do you have the solderless kind? if you do try taking it out and then putting it back in see if that works

Try cleaning all contacst with rubbing alcohol and then reattach and secure snuggles the solderelss adapter.

As well, can you repogram the chip through xcontrol?

Try removeing chip and connect to PC directly and do a fresh write of Bios.  Should take 5 minutes.

Also, you state you have a 1.0 motherboard so verify all solder holes have solder in them.

Verify you are writing proper bios, not one for 1.6 xbox.

Verify solderless adapter plastic is snug against motehrboard on xbox and snug and aligned and screw is nice and snug

I have a 1.0 and it had a defective mb .The mb was missing solder in one pin hole.Had solder put in and it was the wrong kind.Worked for three months and  someone wicked it for me to fix the problem.The adapter has to be perfect also.
