My friend has installed the Solderless X-Chip with USB programmer from Easybuy into a V1.1 xbox.
-It is installed correctly with all points making good contact. The X-Control software and drivers are installed on the PC, and working correctly.
-It sees the chip, can write to it, and upon rebooting the settings are still there as we left them.
-When the USB is plugged into the chip, the red light turns on.
-When X-Control is active, the light turns off as it should.
-The third bios bank (the first writable one) in X-Control has a working bios loaded to it and we have tried setting it to both "eject" and "y button."
However, when the xbox is booted up (either with the eject button, or "y button" pressed) it refuses to load the hacked bios, and simply starts with the original xbox bios and an error 13 (a 160 GIg HDD is installed, but has not been formatted, and has no dash, therefore, error 13)
Due to this problem, we cannot load Evox.
I have no idea what is wrong. If anyone could shed some light on the problem, it would be much appreciated, thanks. This is my first time in dealing with an X-Chip.
