Oh i did all this typing and realised you are using m7 (get rid of m7 bios and use evox_xchipv1.3 bios) manke sure you load raw when using the x-control software and save changes.
I assume by the pretty blue screen you mean the cromwell bios boot screen.
If this is the case then your chip hardware is installed correctly, and you should be able to install the evox_xchip_v1.3 bios using the LOAD RAW option on the x_control software and SAVE CHANGES once complete unplug your usb from the x-chip and reboot into evox bios..Altho if you have done all this already and only the cromwell bios is working for you , then it may be that you have altered the eeprom video settings, (i assume this from you thinking it may be the eeprom).
1. If you have made a backup of the eeprom on your xbox harddrive or on your computer you are in luck and this would be the best way to fix your problem.
Follow these intructions to the letter.
1a. open the Settings Tool program in your exox xchip bios folder
1b.choose File Load Bios. load the evox 1.3.bin file that you use for your xbox
1c.chhose Eeprom Inject Eeeprom from the tab menu. Browse to where you have the copy of your Eeprom saved on your computer.
1d.Save your bios.
2a.Use x-control to install the new bios to your x-chip.
Once complete you must unplug the USB cable and on reboot hold down the black button on the usb adaptor connected to the xchip for 10-20 seconds this will flash the eeprom back to your xbox (at the same time tap the start button on your controller to enter the bios setup screen) check that your video settings are correct for your xbox region and if all is good save & exit. EEPROM restored!
3. Your other option is to use your freinds eeprom from his xbox (but i think that option may have its drawbacks when using xbox-live).
Hope this helps.

BTW lock your hardrive cos if you dont your standard xbox dash will not boot properly and it will error.
