This easiest way to install a new dashboard is to use Slayer's AutoInstaller 2.6. I really can't tell you where to find it but you can google the name. If you don't have a bios installed then you can use the dvd to install one, also if you want to install  a larger drive you can use this too. The dvd has approx. 10-20 apps already there and they will install to your hard drive. XBMC, XBMP,Avalaunch, etc..
Happy Hunting.

I recommend this as well.

Easiest way to get almost everything you'll need out of your modded xbox.  FYI, I burned mine to a CD-R and it worked great on my Samsung drive.  Tried it on my friends Thomson and it didn't work.
