Simpel way to check you solder job, remove chip and see if box starts normal, if so means most likely D0 not making good contact, try alternative D0 under teh board.

If it doesn't start normal you may have spilled solder etc.. Someplace on baord, need to look for solder bridges, etc.

P.S. you will need all cables attached to test unit, dvd, harddrive and video cable

Also, you may wish to check orientation of chip and make sure proper pin holes used.

I've got the same problem, with chip- 3 attempts and frag, w/o chip- MS dash

Are you positive you are using proper D0 point for 1.0 Xbox?

Try reloading the full.bin included with xcontrol to load cromwell back on chip and then test from there.

Also, verify all wires are connected ( DVD, HARDDRIVE, A/V )

I can't get the d0 wire to stay put, so i'm just gonna let it be for now

(now that I have repaired the trace i pulled off)

the box works, lpc pins are good, I just can't for the life of me get the damn d0 wire to stay, and now i have to use the top one, cuz i fubar'd the bottom one
