Brown wire on the 1.6 would be a 1.6b. These Xbox's require a special version of the M8 Bios. Until Team Evox releases an offical X-Chip bios for support of these 1.6 Xboxs use the M8 bios for version 1.6b. This will fix the random lock ups you are receiving.

i just modded 2 1.6b models with the x-chip and large hdd's no probs at all used evox 1.2 tagged with the m8 1.6 plus bios and avalaunch dashboard everything is running great so far.  i would say never to go into the unofficial folder on xbins it's alll to buggy and beta's of everything .
