I can't get the damn thing to stay

Why would you do that, just install the pin header and be done, that is what the pin header is given to you for. If you don't have the pinheader, i'm sure you can get one at radio Shack or somethin........

anyways, now i just have to get the damn thing off the board

I cleaned the board, and solder the adapter in, (i'm pretty good with a solder gun)and installed the chip, and all it will do is the power on/off 3 times thing and then frag, but if i pull the chip off, it boots to the ms dash fine

so i'm ordering a couple pinheaders

but now my problem is getting this damn adapter off, i've pulled all the solder off i can with braid, and its still on there good

I traded a the chip for doing a softmod, cuz the guy didn't want to have anyone solder anything(v1.6 box)

and he didn't have the pin header

i got it out, just took some convincing with the iron  

and the box still works

but thanks for the help

pine: Radiao shack in Eaton centre does sell them, bought a few rows last night for another project.

Scarybourough has lots on lawrence avenue RS location as well.

So PINE, get a life you know squat about electronics

Also, radioshakc.ca shows lots of results as well.

Other names for pin header : pin header, sodler pin row, solder tail, I could go on.

BTW radio shack will not have a 2 by 6 they sell bigger strips yoiu just cut them to your size you want.
