i double  checked the contact of the LPC points... i have a v 1.3 xbox with an x-chip (as i said above)... when i plug in the chip to the adaptor "backwards", it loads the regular xbox bios, but when plug it in the way shown in the tutorial install guide, it tries to power up three times then has no visual on the screen and it flashes red/green on the ring around the eject button. with a 1.3 box, do i need to use the rivets that come with the x-chip??

thanks for the help.

Switch to Bios, but it will become a pain after 2-3 restarst of xbox, so try using xcontrol and making it perminant.

Fast rundown if using evox M8

connect xchip to pc
open xcontrol
click X-chip -> read settings
right click any bank - select load bios
open your evox bios
give name, evox
right click evox bios bank and select boot this time
select xchip ->write changes
make me a coffee and wait 5 minutes

connect back to xbox and if LPC port alligned and d0 connecetd will get evox logo on op left. Yeah drink my coffee

Fast rundown if using Evox 1.0,1.1 or 1.2 ( Evox 1.2 suggested )

connect xchip to pc
open xcontrol
click File -> Load Raw
Slect the Evox1.2 bin file
select xchip ->write changes
make me a coffee and wait 5 minutes

connect back to xbox and if LPC port alligned and d0 connecetd will get evox logo on op left. Yeah drink my coffee

Verify the solderless adapter plastic is flush with xbox motherboard, and that you have 10 pogo pins underneath adapter and 11 poles ontop.  If not you are using incorrect adapter.  If so then its connection issue.

Have you renamed your default.xbe file yet?  I have'nt actually got my mod chip yet, just doing some reading, but I thought you had to change the name of the .xbe to to evoXdash.xbe.  That way it will boot to the evox dashboard.  I could be wrong though.  Check the complete noob's guide to the x-box in the tutorials section for the information I found on this.
