If you have any other bios then the shipped cromwell or evox on the xchip it is normal for the grey boxes, as it can't distinguish what bansk are used and size.

Get settings takes only about 5 seconds, read chip can take 5 minutes.

Have you tried redownloading X-Control and verifying you have a good full.bin image you are writting to chip.  Also, you are using File -> Load RAW and seleing full.bin then X-Chip -> write changes??? Correct???

Do exactly what crav says. Also try another image. Have you tried X-chip bios 1.1 yet.

Is the chip being detected by X-control. It should be red when conected then the red light should go off and the red x should turn green on the X-control software.

If you have tried all of this and the X-chip is still locking up make sure you are using the updated dll file and replace the old dll with the new one found on the easybuy2000.com web site.

If all fails and you cannot flash your chip then if may be the X-chip at fault and at this point I would suggest that you RMA the chip back to us for an exchange.

pine if you bought the chip directly from us then you can exchange it for another as long as you have a valid order number. If you bought from another reseller then you must do the exchange through them.

We have a 30 money back and 1 year exchange policy on all our products.

pine: When you try and write do you see a % display in titlebar when fails to write?  Also, did you check control panel to verify Xchip and cable are connected and drivers laoded properly??? as USB sometimes takes 5-15 seconds to kick in and detect when device plugged in.

If you are trying to write to the X-chip and have the drivers properly installed and everything is good on your side then the X-chip could be at fault. Most issues of the X-chip install has to do with either contact issues or improper solder intsall jobs however that's not the case with you. Till now very little issues have been with the chips themselves.

I would suggest you fill in the RMA form and send it back to us for an exchange due to you cannot write to chip.

What's the evox bios, does it come with the x-chip, and do you use it in correspondence with cromwell bios?

[email protected]: Phone eb2k, i'm sure they could track order via Name or shipping address.  May take a day, but they can find it.

kasserole: cromwell is a legal bios that is shipped on the xchip, it allows uers to convert there xbox to a linux operating system.  The Evox bios allows you todo bad stuff ( aka play copied games, and unsigned applications )  , since it allows bad stuff it is illegal and not shipped with xchip, you will need to search aroudn to find it but once you do you will be very happy.
