Are you leaving the USB cable in the chip? I found that when I do that the xbox ignores the x-chip and boots as though it isnt there

Sounds like loose connection, and possible moving the X-Chip when you are reading chip in X-Control.

This is not normal.  Also, what version Xbox you are using and are you pressing Eject button whne rebooting?

I have xbox 1.4 or 1.5, and I am using the power button when i turn on my XBOX.  I have the m8 bios and evoX.  I have checked my connections and nothing is loose.

Maybe it is my set up.  Before i started messing with it and I only had cromwell on my chip it would boot fine.  But now that i have been screwin around with it, nothing works.

What do you guys have loaded on your x-chip and XBOX?

I'm using Evox 1.1 and have the xbox original bios mapped to Y button on controller.

Also, I am running a 120 GB locked through Evox 1.1 as well. So will not give me any customer service messages when disabled.

I had this same problem -- see my intermittent booting.  Try totally re-flashing your chip.  This fixed the problem for me -- I loaded the Evox 1.1 Xchip bios and nothing else.

Rewritting bios to xchip could be useful.  Make sure you are writting it correctly.
