Black rocker arm?

D0 does not matter if filled with solder as you can attach solder to solder, so wire will stay connected anyways tongue.gif

you are talking about the solderless adaptor... and the d0 point are not supposed to be 'holes'... at least none i have seen are...

Sometimes laquor will cover the holes on PCB's.

Try using rubbing alcohol ( NOT BEER or Jack Daniels ) and use an exacto knife and slightly scrap the hole area of where D0 is.

Dispite populat beleif no 1.5's exist according to Evolution X, so you have a 1.4.

The hole is actually called a via, it allows running of traces from one side of a board to the other, if the via wasn't there ( hole in your terms ) the Xbox D0 woudl be cut and would not work normally.  Most likly it has solder on top and laquor making it look like no hole(via )

Well i hope this will take care of the problem. It does look the D0 points were covered up..When I called easybuy2000 they said i had a refurb x-box which didnt make any sence...I mean why would MS recover the board with laquor..But who knows... Thanks for the input guys I'll let you know the outcome later 2night.

Why woudl MS refurbish.........hmmm....$200 unit sitting in junk pile or refurbish and sell it working.


Just remember at the beginning of modding alot of ppl damaged boxes and returned....most of them requiring basiuc solder to repair, MS would spend $50inlabour to recoup cost of box being sold if repaired...better then $200 loss.

Cut the pin on the adapter and run the wire to where the pin goes would be the easiest if you use the alternative D0 since you don;t want that pin shorting on anything else.  Or cut the wire on the solderless and wire to D0 onto of X-Chip as you said.


Isn't it always our own boxes that are the hardest, everyone else's is a breeze

uhh.gif  unsure.gif im confuesd... are u talking about the mother board of the xbox it self?
and why are u trying to poke it though? i have a ve 1.4 and my d0 is not filld u just cant poke throgh it.... u cant poke through it at all..
have u tryed to boot up the xbox?...with the chip on?
and are u useing a solderless adaptor or a pin header???   unsure.gif

YES,pine16,,,the D0 points were sealed with LAQUOR..NO D0 point was exposed I had to use rubbing ALCoHOL and a knife to expose the D0 on the MB...

Anywho, After a quick recap of this forum....I got it to work thanks biggrin.gif christineyoung biggrin.gif what you said would happen did...After a few hours of work i finally got it...The bad thing is that the D0 wire is just barely touching i cant get it to poke all the way thru....i I might have to solder mad.gif  Any other suggestions?

If the pin is touching D0 and X-Chip working, I woudl suggest using silicon cocking and put it around the pin to stay, or you can use soldering irin and just heat up pin and add solder.  This will make sure it won't come loose.

P.S. I have never put a pin through the hole on D0, the pin just seems to sit in the top divit of the hole making contact.

yeah... try  bending the wire down with ur fingers.. be very carful it can break easy.. and also id try sodlering it to the mb, ur most likey better off.
