Can My Xbox Still Read A Evox Boot Disk Without...

Hi, I wanted to know if my xbox will be able to read my evox boot disk without an illegal bios, such as an evox bios...?  And also, if I can use the preflashed cromwell bios, do I just put the evox boot disk into my dvd drive and it will automatically start up, or what...? Thanks
