Is that a joke? Obviously if I said the xbox isn't reading the cd then that probably means I would have turned the xbox on with the cd inside it.

1stly we must verify evox working, do you see a purple EVOX sheild logo when you start xbox?  If so modchip installed and working.  If not verify contact and connection.  Also if you used XControl to load the raw image, that you performed a X-Chip -> write changes ( This actually writes the chip with percentages shown )

2ndly we must look at media if #1 is working. Xbox DVD drives are very picky sometimes.  It all comes down to compatibility with yoiur drive, if you think you have a Philips drive, easiest way to check is remove cover, a sticker on the DVD drive will indicate manufacturer.  Now once comfirmed, you can do a search for drive manufacturer and media here on XS and see what media works with your setup. Now with drive compatibility coverred there is another issue......burnt image.  Did you download an ISO or just straight files and you made a CD-RW out of it?   If iso your image shoudl be good but if you had a directory, etc, you need to make a XISO format image to burn, there are many utilities available to do this. Do a search for XISO utility and you will get intructions on usage.

3rdly make sure you insert CD-RW facing proper direction with the label facing top of xbox,  JUST JOKING!!!!!!

Yes, the Purple Triangle is present.  I used the evox 3935 dashboard which I got off xbins.  I used craxtion to make the iso, but it said that evox.ini and default.xbe were already patched.  I threw in a dummy file and made an iso and burned it to a cd-rw using nero @ 4x.  Just to narrow things down, I burned a cd-rw with music and the xbox was able to play it.  So I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

Ok so things sounding good and we know yoiur CD-RW media is compatible tongue.gif

I woudl suggest looking a Slayers Install v2.5 on xbins as well, its an all in one complete package although it doesn't have the newest evolutionX dashboard the image will tell us if its being burnt correctly as its packaged in an ISO format, and ready to burn.

The file you get from xbins for slayers will be a torrent hopefully yoiu are familiar with torrents.

Also, it could be your burning software as well, i've used stomp, nero without any issues.

Well I wasn't familiar with torrent, but I figured out how it works, so now I just have to wait for this huge file to finish downloading.

Once I get the Auto Installer I just burn it to a cd-rw and insert it in the xbox (turning it on of course)  is there a special screen or anything that should come up if it works?

Pretty much, I'm d/l again from some site I got off the slayers channel.

I had noticed some of the numbers that were given for authentication purposes in verifying that it is the correct file and not some altered file were not right.  So I'll try this and see what happens.

Ok got slayers d/l and burned it to a cd-rw using roxio easy cd creator and nero but the xbox still won't read it.  I d/l the file and then burnt it straight to the cd at 4x.  I'm using a maxwell cd-rw.  Any other suggestions?  I don't know anybody with a dvd burner.

Try burning at 2X.  Slower speeds sometimes works better with some drives.

Also, may want to downlaod  a demo of NERO and try burining image with it.

You are selecting burn image ( correct )???? Not just burning iso to CD?????

Which was issue?   burning iso image or slower speed?

If you used slayers, your xbox ip will be 192.168.1.200 or 192.168.0.200  need to make sure your router is eiteh 0.1 or 1.1 at end also, on pc make sure firewall OFF helps alot.

By default with slayesr install disk teh IP of xbox is 192.168.1.200 ( or 0.200 ).

If you installed slayers and you are booting your xbox, you should come to an evolutionX screen on that screen you should see your IP address of XBOX.

Now dispite your router ( no internet connection but shows as 192.168.1.1 ) what IP does your computer give?

If you knwo howto change TCP settings on PC do this:

Ip: 192.168.1.50
Submask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Reboot PC

Now you shodul be able to FTP to 192.168.1.200 if not, try pinging 192.168.1.200
