Forgot one thing and im not sure it would matter but  I'm using a HD from my old modded xbox . It's not the retail drive or a fresh one. Would that matter at all?

If that drive is still locked, then I'm pretty sure that might be it. But your retail drive back in, and check to see if a red LED is lighting up on the xchip when you power on. Also check for solder spills/splashes and check that your d0 is correctly installed.

Are you absolutly sure the d0 wire is in the right hole? That sounds like the problem, but keep the retail drive in the xbox, the other one wont work unless its unlocked.

Ok. Cromwell should boot upon the turning on of the xbox. Reflash the chip with all factory standards. Then flash evox to one of its 256kb bios banks.

Edit

Is it the Xchip Evox M8 Bios?

well heres where im at now. Xbox no longer  resests and FRAGS but it will not load any backups or homebrew stuff like emulators nor my SLayers disk. It appears that it is booting the M$ bios. As it starts to boot the game then back to the dashboard. Would this be a connection thing still or bad bios/flash?

Flash it with the original factory standard raw file.

In Xcontrol once your chip is connect, click load raw file then go to C:\Program Files\X-Chip\Bios\Full.bin

Then write changes. Then REMEBER to uplug the USB cable out of the programmer. (Learne this the hard way, gave me som odd troubles)

Upon boot you should get the X-chip cromwell bios. From then do what you need.

The X-Chip isn't a dashboard upgrade, it's a BIOS replacement.  Once you get the chip working correctly you should see the Cromwell flash screen (assuming you still have the factory installed BIOS).  Once you get a BIOS flashed onto the chip you'll still need to load up a new dashboard if those are your intentions.  It will still boot to the MS dash until you do.
