X-chip Flashing Question
« on: July 15, 2004, 06:48:00 PM »

I don't think it makes a difference (which ever you prefer), someone correct me if i'm wrong . I used the usb connector and flashed it using the x-control software. Both methods are fairly easy.

X-chip Flashing Question

If you have a Thomson drive, without access to a DVD burner, then the USB flashing would be the obvious route to go.  Because we all know how much trouble it can be trying to flash your chip via CD-RW, if you have a Thomson drive in your Xbox.

QUOTE (RockmanZeroX @ Jul 24 2004, 07:09 AM)
I was just wondering what Bios's you guys used to flash ur x-chip....

also is there any tut yet on how to flash the x-chip using the usb connection??

thnx

Yes, there is a flashing the chip via USB tutorial. Install the X-Controll software, and It'll be in the same directory, its a .PDF file. I use a load of different bio's on my xchip and each one of them boots a different dash/app. Mainly though X2 4981.06 because I have a 200gb hdd and Its moddable through XBTool.

X-chip Flashing Question

Flashing optional, depends if your using linux yes.

But if your talking slayers( aka game copies, and utilities and tools ) you will need to install a new bios through flashing.  Basically loading a hacked bios to allow unsigned code.

I'd suggest Evox 1.0 so you can use some of these features available on the X-Chip.

No, you wouldnt be able to load slayers without flashing the chip. Check the "Usual Places" Link in my signature for info on were to get the Evox Xchip Bios.

I thought i read in guide if you have solder in lpc holes not needed, if you don;t insert the rivits.  I think it also states if xbox 1.0 or 1.1 not needed, 1.2 and beyond needed.
