Yes it will allow you to play backedup games but you need other applications installed on your xbox that will allow you to do this. The X-Chip has a lot of features and you can do a lot with a modded xbox. Read around the forums. Hope this helps.

You dont have to have any apps installed on the xbox, You need a good bios x2 498x or Evox m7, m8 or simular.
Then you can burn your games to dvd and begin playing.
