First off, look at the pogo pins and make sure alligne dto LPC port on xbox, then snug down adapter so nice and flush with motherboard.  

If you do not have solder in the LPC holes, use supplied rivits.

Also you can use teh white outline of LPC port for alignment, make sure one side of solderless aligned with it so you knwo your in good posistion.

Now verify D0 is connected in right spot for your box.


Now power up XBOX while still open, but harddrive and DVD and the video cable plugged into teh xbox.  

Now watch the lights on the xbox power and eject buttons. Ifthey only stay green means contact not good.  

Remove solderless and clean all contacts with rubbing alcohol and try again.

Also, verify using xchip solderless adapter ( 2 wires running on it )

As long as you can program the chip (read/write) to it via the X-Control client the chip is ok. Most of the time it's a contact issue with either the solder-less adapter and the LPC port on Xbox or the DO point. Also if there is alot of rocking motion with the X-Chip and the solder-less adapter this can be fixed my moving the 4 center pins apart slightly (if you move the pins too far apprt they will break and will not fit into the X-Chip so be VERY CAREFULL when doing so. It only requires very little movement to have the adapter fit snug on the X-Chip.

Once this is done there will be slight rocking motion which is normal and within the design specs of the X-Chip.

The X-Chips have very little issues with them and manufacture quality is very high.
99% of the time it's a contact issue and not a issue with the X-Chip itself.

DO I need to use the revits that came with the solderless adapter?  Are they going to give me a better fit to the LPC holes?  Also, does anybody have a good quality picture of what the D0 point looks like?  I have used the pictures form easybuy2000, but am unsure if I am looking at it wrong.  If nobody does, that is alright.  I will keep trying until I get it.

If your Xbox is between version 1.1 and 1.5 then YES the rivets are needed to insure a good contact between the LPC port and solder-less adapter.

Xbox 1.0 with the LPC holes filled with solder, the rivets are not needed.

The problem sounds like your d0 is misaligned. Check were that little wires is and make sure its in the right point. If it helps, lightly sand the point to ensure better contact. Check to see what version xbox you have and use they're guide to ensure correct d0.

The best bios to use if you have an X-Chip is the X-Chip EvoXM8 bios.
