Yes it is possible to use the solderless, but all 1.6 boxes require soldering to regain LPC port access.

What I mean is place solderless adapter on 1.6 box, cut/remove D0 on it and spring and then wire all jump points to top of solderless adapter then slip chip on.

Only 4 wires to solder.

If you are soldering the 1.6 be very carefull. You MUST NOT solder pin #4 to the LPC doing so will damage your Xbox.

It's best to use the pin header method because you are soldering.

Solder the 4 needed wires to rebuild the LPC port. The wire for the Vcc 3.3 volt is NOT needed for the X-Chip thus ONLY 4 wires are needed instead of 5 to solder.

Don't forget to remove pin #4 from the pin header and make sure you do NOT solder this to the LPC port of the Xbox.

Also make sure you use a bios for the 1.6 Xbox. There have been bios's released that now support the 1.6 and 1 special bios/OS that adds a bunch of advanced featured to the X-Chip. Just make sure you use the correct bios.
