Wait I found something

http://www.playxbox.szm.sk/X-Chip.htm

Still no manufacturer though
And it was advertised as the chameleon 2... weird stuff

Weird EB2k said there upgrading all Chameleon 2 orders 2 the x-Chip meaning it's not out yet

Yet this place is actually saying it's selling (well there are reviews at the bottom so it's sold) Chameleon 2's

Oh it's a retailer effort then?

Well they have been selling modchips for quite a while.

I don't know who did the design for them (not xodus ofcourse), but it's made for easbuy2k and they will also do their own production ofcourse.

I don't have more info about this modchip yet. I don't think it has anything to do with http://www.playxbox.szm.sk/X-Chip.htm tho (old 29wire modchip).

Heh, I don't think so.  EB2K just added to their page officially, yes, but they've been spreading work for the past week.

As far as the SRAM...I have no ideas what that is for.  I had guessed at reprogramming the CPLD when it came up earlier, but it's completely uninformed.

That's true you only need the 1meg for bioses that don't know better or if your trying to develope something

EDIT flicking between bioses can really mess up your gamesaves!

The fun part is that people actually seem to be excited over all these new modchips.

Weird.

The only thing an Xbox modchip needs is 256kb of flash reprogrammable memory. No leds, no 1Mb, 2Mb or 8Mb memory. No external programmer connections, no external dip-switches, no "own operating system" etc.

Silly.

Bingo.  I tell people I'm gonna use a apple chip if I mod their box and they act like they are getting ripped off.  I have installed 6 or so of them without a prob.  The only chip I ever had a prob is a damn 2.3b premod that would not stop fragging or even let me program it externally.  I eventually ripped it out and installed a apple smile.gif

Hate to bash executer chips but shouldn't they have gotten rid of dip switches by now?
