Rom Error With Drive Open

Greetings!  The faqs are currently unavailable, so maybe someone can help me here.  I just managed to get my xbit chip working (soldered...adding the power jumper from the dvd drive helps a LOT).  I can get the latest cromwell and evox (m8) bios working (but not xcuter 4891 or 4893).  When I power the xbox with the dvd drive button (opening the drive), I get a rom error (red/green flash).  If I power the unit with the dvd drive closed, the evox bios boots just fine.  Is this normal, or is there something I need to be concerned with?

Updated information:  The red/green flash issue resolved itself once I used the slayer install process and installed the evox dashboard.
