Xbit Keeps Fragging!

ok... I try to male this thing work... and it FRAGS! what switch setting should I put it on... if i only use the 1st bank.. 2 meg bios... TX!

All switches must be off for bios bank 1.

Btw. Where did you got a 2M bios?

Yes, I know how to do that, but as I have not seen a tool that would resize bios image size to 2 megs, I wonder how a newbie has managed to get one.

I suspect that sacroligous has put a smaller sized bios image to 2 meg bank and therefore the damn thing frags.

Listen up you fucking ass... Im a god dam installer... The switches are correct and im using DOS to resize the bios... Im not a fuckong noob... Im installing it for a client... he sent me the xbox witht the chip in there... Dont be aking some gay ass assumptions when you dont know! I am using a 2MB bios... and it frags...!

I am sorry if I have underestimated you, but you really sound like a noob. I would have expected that a pro would have found out the problem by himself/herself.

So, you have formatted the flash memory with the format 1 and have flashed a 2 meg bios to bank 1. I guess you have verified that too and set all the dip switches off? Either it is a LPC contact problem or otherwise it is a bios problem (bad bios/flash or empty bank).

If a 2 meg bios is not a must, I would try to use format 6 and one of the 512k or 256k banks. If that would not help, I would disable the chip by turning on the dip switch 4 and check if it still frags.

Edit: Btw. which Xbox version is that?
